Ansley and Blaire’s Timeless Summer Wedding at Dunwoody Country Club

One of our greatest joys as wedding coordinators is being welcomed into the families of our brides and grooms as they celebrate their engagement seasons and plan their wedding days. We love learning about how they met and fell in love, and we also completely enjoy witnessing the relationships they share with their families and friends in real time. One of the sweetest couples (and families!) we have worked with recently is Ansley and Blaire, and we cannot wait to share more from their June wedding day.

Ansley and Blaire are both drawn to timeless, classic style – one of our favorite styles to put on display – and they knew they wanted to celebrate their wedding day at Dunwoody Baptist Church and Dunwoody Country Club. But before their wedding day was officially underway, they each chose to prep for the day ahead in two locations that mean the most to them – their childhood homes.

Hair, makeup, and plenty of laughter happened as Ansley and her sisters and (almost) sisters-in-law got ready, while Blaire shared plenty of happiness with his groomsmen. She slipped into her incredible Britt Wood Designs wedding dress with help from her mom who also wore a Britt Wood Designs dress. We’re still obsessed with both gowns! Once everyone was ready, it was time for Ansley and Blaire to see each other for the first time, and the joy definitely overflowed.

Not only did Britt Wood design the gowns for the bride and mother of the bride, but he also created all of the flower arrangements. His designs were first on display at Dunwoody Baptist Church, where A+B recited their vows. The church has a classic aesthetic, and Britt’s designs matched the style beautifully. Before everyone departed from the church, Ansley, Blaire, and their families captured photos (something we highly recommend doing at your ceremony location in the interest of time!).

As guests sipped on cocktails at Dunwoody Country Club, Ansley and Blaire celebrated a pause in the rain that fell throughout the day by capturing couple’s portraits. There’s something so special about a golf course backdrop, and we also love the photos Kate Belle Photography captured of the pair with their venue in the background!

Inside the ballroom, more fresh green and white blooms by Britt Wood were ready and waiting to welcome guests inside. The bar had an incredible, show stopping centerpiece, and each of the guest tables featured a tall arrangement overflowing with greens. Each piece was the perfect accent to A+B’s desired style, and we also loved how the cake was featured prominently!

As they entered into the ballroom, Ansley and Blaire’s night of dancing officially got underway. They shared their first dance on a checkered black and white dance floor. Then it was time for Ansley and her dad to reveal their dance montage! She grew up dancing ballet, so the pair have shared quite a number of dances already. But we have to believe this dance was the most special. Then Blaire and his mom kept spirits high as they shared their mother-son dance together.

While listening to speeches, guests dined on a menu created by Dunwoody Country Club. Then it was time once again for the dance floor to fill as Tim and Lane of The Tim Tyler Duo welcomed everyone back for more. We loved these two guitar players who are also equally talented singers; they rocked the house!

Brides!! If you’re wondering if hiring a wedding planner/day-of coordinator is necessary the answer is YES! I was hesitant to hire a day-of coordinator at first because I was a very budget-conscious bride and naturally very sensible when it comes to money. My wedding designer suggested these ladies and it was worth every penny. Their prices are very fair and they have packages for every budget. They cater to your needs when it comes to their level of involvement. I chose one of the more budget friendly packages and had an initial planning meeting, an email/phone call each month, they came to the final walkthrough meeting at the venue, they were at the rehearsal, and there for the whole wedding day. They were so fun to work with, did anything they could to make my life easier, came up with the most amazing and detailed schedule for the day (this was my favorite part of hiring them - I couldn’t have done that myself), and kept the wedding day moving along at the perfect speed. I couldn’t recommend these ladies more. Thank you so much Lauren and Cathy! We love you!
— Ansley C.

As all great celebrations tend to do, Ansley and Blaire’s wedding day did come to a close. But it was not before countless memories were made for this newly married pair and their wonderful friends and family. We loved being by your side. Congratulations again!
