Leann and Kunal's Multi Cultural Wedding: Summerour Studio
Do you ever have those work projects or events you're genuinely sad to see come to an end? This wedding was one of those — a day so full of joy, intention, and heart that I felt truly honored to be part of it.
From the moment I met Leann and Kunal, it was clear how deeply kind, thoughtful, and in love they are — not just with each other, but with their people. Throughout the entire planning process, they treated everyone around them with warmth and gratitude. Being involved in a wedding like that? Absolutely!
Leann and Kunal were so intentional about every detail of their day, with one priority always in mind: honoring both of their families and cultural backgrounds.
The day began with Leann and her bridesmaids getting ready (and popping some bubbly!) at the gorgeous Bellyard Hotel.
Afterward, Leann made her way to Summerour Studio, one of Atlanta’s most iconic venues, where the rest of the day unfolded. Leann got dressed in the upstairs patio and then had a bridesmaid reveal there too.
Kunal was waiting for Leann outside on the patio for their first look which was photographed by the talented team of Lauren Bailey Photography. Once the couple had seen each other and enjoyed some private time, their dog Liew was brought in for some family photos.
While the ceremony itself was planned indoors from the start, Leann made sure to have her special moment: walking down the iconic Summerour staircase with her dad to meet her groom. That walk was nothing short of cinematic.
Their ceremony — officiated by a close friend — was sweet, full of laughs, and ended with a perfect dip-and-kiss moment that had everyone cheering.
The ceremony embraced classic wedding traditions, and for the reception, they brought in vibrant Indian traditions — including a wardrobe change into a Sherwani and Lehenga.
And one of the most fun parts? The entire wedding party surprised guests with a choreographed Indian dance to kick off the cultural celebration. It was such a joyful and meaningful way to bridge their two worlds and bring everyone into the experience.
Since the wedding was in June, Leann wanted to bring all the sunshine into her floral palette — and I was so here for it. The bright, cheerful blooms looked stunning alongside the elegant black bridesmaids’ dresses, and the contrast made everything pop in the best way.
They brought so many personal touches to the reception, too. Their seating chart was themed around destinations they’ve traveled together, and the signature drinks were perfectly personalized: His, Hers, and Liew — their adorable dog, who also made an appearance earlier in the day for photos!
A neon “Better Together” sign lit up the reception space alongside lush floral arrangements by Blosm Designs, including a stunning ceiling installation over the estate table that added a real wow factor.
Dancing the night away With music by DJ Cuttlefish, the couple enjoyed all the traditional dances, a fun cake cutting by Kelly’s Cakes, and ended the night with one of my favorite touches — a private last dance, just the two of them.
It was a moment of stillness, love, and reflection at the end of a day filled with celebration. You could feel how deeply they cherished not just the day, but the journey that brought them there.
Weddings like this remind me why I do what I do. Leann and Kunal poured so much heart into every part of their wedding — and in turn, their friends and families poured that love right back. It was a true celebration of cultures, commitment, and connection.
“We had the best experience working with JAL! Lauren is phenomenal and made everything a breeze from start to finish. Her monthly check-ins kept us on track, and she was always available to talk through ideas and issues. On the day of the wedding, she and Jodi kept the day flowing smoothly. Lauren is very experienced and is familiar with all things wedding and planning. She is a true delight to work with and kept us laughing the whole time! Leann (Bride)
