A Modern and Classically Elegant Epicurean Hotel Wedding | Annie + Doug

If you love modern style, and you’re dreaming of getting married at an incredible venue in Midtown Atlanta, you will absolutely want to keep reading to find out so much more about Annie and Doug’s celebration. We LOVED working with these two!

Annie and Doug celebrated their wedding day at the Epicurean Hotel. It’s a downtown hotel that’s known in the foodie scene for its innovative offerings, and it’s also a favorite amongst fans of modern design. This space has it all, and its staff is made up of the kindest people to boot! So, it’s not a surprise that A and D felt that this was the spot to make their modern-meets-classic-elegance wedding come to life.

The couple’s celebration kicked off in the morning when the bride and groom spent time getting ready with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. Something we noticed throughout the day is these two could not stop smiling. It was the BEST sight to see! And their excitement was palpable as their first looks kicked off.

Annie wanted to have a special moment with her bridesmaids where she revealed her dress to them, and each bridesmaid’s reaction was fantastic! She also wanted to share a first look with her dad, which was so sweet to witness too. Then it was Doug’s turn. Annie and Doug saw each other for the first time in one of the Epicurean’s outdoor spaces, and the lighting and their epic smiles made this moment incredible.

Because the Epicurean has an excellent outdoor terrace, many brides and grooms choose to get married outside—and we’re so thrilled Annie and Doug made the same choice! Annie and her dad walked down the aisle together, and she beaming the entire time. Annie and Doug recited their vows against a beautiful backdrop that included a modern arch with blooms by On Occasions of Atlanta and the Atlanta skyline. It was perfect!

After the ceremony, guests mingled together while Annie and Doug captured additional portraits. Then it was time to welcome everyone into the ballroom. Dining on an incredible menu created by the Epicurean team was, of course, part of the evening’s plan. And the other important thing Annie and Doug couldn’t wait to do was dance! Their dance floor was packed for the entire night, and Doug and his fraternity brothers even sang “My Girl” to Annie—we loved it! The couple only paused to cut their cake, which was placed against a fun faux boxwood backdrop with a neon sign of the couple’s new shared last name.

We were hesitant about getting a planner at first (unsure if we needed one). After a slow planning start, our recently married friends referred us to Just about Love Weddings, and we are so glad we went with them! Lauren was incredibly helpful from the start, keeping us on track throughout our planning and referring us to amazing vendors when we weren’t sure who to go with. Day-of, Lauren and Cathy kept everything running smoothly—we wouldn’t have had such an amazing night without them!
