Logan and Lawrence wedding in Highlands, NC
Logan and Lawrence’s wedding at Wildcat Cliffs Country Club and The Church of the Incarnation in Highlands, North Carolina was one to remember! I’m always thrilled when we get to get away and head to the mountains for a celebration of a marriage.
I remember the first day I had the opportunity to meet the couple and the love they showed towards one another and the sweetness of what they wanted out of the wedding was shown throughout our conversations. The couple wanted to be as traditional with their values, faith and love and show that throughout their wedding vibe. They wanted guest to feel relaxed and enjoy what highlands offers but also to take in the wonderful celebration of the start of their marriage.
Logan and I met several times throughout me 6 month package of wedding coordinating. She wanted delicate elements used during throughout the ceremony and reception. So, she started the rehearsal with a dress was made partially made out of her mother’s wedding dress.
The morning of the wedding happened at a family friend’s home that felt low key and relaxed while the girls got their hair and makeup done by the Moore Agency. Logan’s sister and mom helped her get in her dress and then she read a letter from Lawrence in private that allowed her to take a moment and process what was ahead for the day. Logan wanted to be very intentional in having time with her parents, siblings and Lawrence before the hustle and bustle started. So her dad came to the family home and they enjoyed some time on the back deck together before the groom came over and did the first look in semi-private. You know the girls and family were watching through the windows. How could they not in such a sweet moment.
Once the first looks by Alta Studios and 326 Films were completed the wedding party headed to the country club to take some pictures as a group and enjoy some time together before the trolley took them to the church.
The ceremony took place at the Church of the Incarnation, which is the oldest church in Highlands. The sanctuary is so unique and full of history and the florals by Greene House Designs elevated the main doors into the church. The ceremony of bells that were family heirlooms held by the ring bearers and her rehearsal dinner.
Logan also included sweet touches to the reception with a family heirloom saber to cut the cake with an engraved family goblets to toast with at their cake table and estate table. When the guest entered Wildcat club they were greeted with a table that had handwritten cards by the bride and groom to each couple attending their wedding. They wanted their guest to feel the love and support they were receiving on this special day.
The cocktail hour took place on the patio so guest could enjoy the mountain scenery and sip on their signature cocktail “The First Date.”
Once the couple were ready to eat and party the guest found their seats throughout the beautiful club full of centerpieces of silver bowls filled with Calla Lilly. The band Papa Sol rocked the club out throughout the evening with guest enjoying oldies and classic rock hits. The night ended with a private last dance and a getaway in the bride’s parents convertible that the bride’s parents drove away in at their wedding.
Logan and Lawrence were such a sweet couple to work with and had some many special elements that we helped them in corporate into the wedding day.
Review from the bride:
"Lauren and Cathy were so wonderful to work with for my wedding in Highlands, NC! Lauren kept me organized and on track during the planning process, and day-of, I knew she and Cathy would have everything under control. I had friends tell me afterwards that it was the smoothest wedding they have been to. I would highly recommend using JAL!"
